The baler moisture tester kit

A DSE4200 baler moisture tester kit contains a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends out a microwave signal through the bale, while the receiver receives the attenuated signal that is calculated into a moisture percentage. The operator has the overview in the tractor cabin where the meausurement results of the straw or hay are displayed.

“Having purchased a DSE meter to try on one of my balers, I realised very quickly what an asset it was to my baling business and ordered another one within a week. The DSE is very accurate in relation to hand held meters I have. My balers can go into a field and bale all day with confidence that they are producing bales of a quality I desire. There is no down time getting off tractors to hand sample bales. This is particularly advantageous in the evening when dampness starts to fall. They can keep going for longer without stopping. I believe they lose 3 bales every time they leave the tractor seat. This adds up to a far larger output per day / week / season. I also find my drivers are less fatigued by not getting on and off. The DSE also eliminates any doubt for me that drivers may continue without checking as they should. The red screen when our target highest moisture level is reached is a particular asset, catching the drivers eye immediately. When contract baling I like the fact I can tell customers the average moisture for each field we bale for them. When I’m baling straw of my own to sell I can also tell my livestock customers with confidence the exact moisture content of the lorry load of straw that I am delivering to them.
